Kodiak Family Friendly Community Gathering

December 10, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Is early childhood important to you?

You are invited to participate in a fun and family-friendly early evening event hosted by Alaska’s Early Childhood Joint Task Force* and Kodiak Island Borough School District, Kodiak Area Native Association, Sun’aq Tribe of Kodiak and RuralCAP.  Food, childcare, and a comfortable format will be provided for parents and families to talk freely about their experiences and offer suggestions to improve early care and learning programs and options in Kodiak.

The purpose of these meetings is to gather ideas and opinions from parents and families. The responses we receive will help write the new comprehensive, action-oriented, statewide strategic plan for early childhood in Alaska. This is your opportunity to provide input on this important plan!

*Partners, including the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Southcentral Foundation and the Association of Alaska School Boards, in partnership with over 10 early childhood organizations and parent representatives have formed the Alaska Early Childhood Joint Task Force to coordinate work on the new statewide strategic plan for early childhood care and education.
This event is open to the public. Parents, grandparents, foster parents and guardians of young children will be entered to win door prizes!
