Is early childhood important to you?

You are invited to participate in a fun and family-friendly early evening event hosted by Alaska’s Early Childhood Joint Task Force* and Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska, Klawock Cooperative Association, Community Connections, Klawock City School District, Hydaburg City School District, Craig City School District, Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium, and Prince of Wales Health Network. Food, childcare, and a comfortable format will be provided for parents and families to talk freely about their experiences and offer suggestions to improve early care and learning programs in your local community.

The purpose of these meetings is to gather ideas and opinions from parents and families. The responses we receive will help write the new comprehensive, action-oriented, statewide strategic plan for early childhood in Alaska. This is your opportunity to provide input on this important plan!

*Partners, including the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, and the Association of Alaska School Boards, in partnership with over 10 early childhood organizations and parent representatives have formed the Alaska Early Childhood Joint Task Force to coordinate work on the new statewide strategic plan for early childhood care and education.

We’re looking forward to seeing you!
